VOLUNTARY TyEL INSURANCE
The Finnish employer may insure the employee voluntarily under TyEL
- if the employee is sent to the employ of a group or an associated undertaking of the Finnish company.
- in the event that the posted worker transfers abroad to the employ of another group or associated undertaking of the same Finnish company or another Finnish company.
- when an employee covered by Finnish social security is recruited locally (abroad) by a Finnish company or its group or associated undertaking.
- when TyEL level pension security should be maintained in agreement countries (so-called supplementary security).
The policyholder is always the Finnish company and responsible for paying the insurance contributions. The employee must be covered by the Finnish social security system at the start of the employment.
