INSURING EMPLOYMENT ABROAD
Whether an employee posted abroad remains covered by the Finnish earnings-related social security scheme, is affected, among other things, by the following issues:
- Is the country of employment an EU/EEA state, Switzerland or a country with a social security agreement with Finland?
- Is the country of employment a non-agreement country?
- Is the work abroad temporary and does the employee have the status of a so-called posted worker?
- Does the person move abroad to work for a Finnish company, its subsidiary, sister or parent company or is the employer a foreign company?
