Applying for vocational rehabilitation

You can apply for vocational rehabilitation by filling in and signing a rehabilitation application form (pdf) (the form is in Finnish).

For the application you need a B2 medical statement on your present state of health and the employer’s description of your job and any working arrangement options. The employer’s description is important because Ilmarinen always has to investigate the employer’s chances of offering the applicant work that suits his or her state of health.

The self-employed person's application for rehabilitation shall be accompanied by a description of his or her work and an assessment of the possibilities of reorganizing the work.

The applicant’s right to rehabilitation is also examined when application is made for a fixed-term cash rehabilitation benefit or a disability pension.
