How is the YEL contribution determined?
The YEL contribution is a percentage of your YEL income. In 2026, the contribution is 24.4% of your confirmed YEL income. Pension accrues at 1.5% of your YEL income.
As a new entrepreneur, you get a 22% discount for up to 48 months. The discount is applied automatically when you purchase the insurance online.
Your selected due months affect the amount of your payments. With the YEL calculator, you can compare how due months and instalments affect your payments.
Remember to also check your YEL income
Your YEL income affects, in addition to your pension:
- sickness allowance
- parental allowances
- earnings-related unemployment security
