Starting a new business as part of vocational rehabilitation

If your work ability has weakened in your current job, one vocational rehabilitation alternative is starting a new business.

Vocational rehabilitation and starting a new business

Starting a new business is one of the available vocational rehabilitation alternatives. The work in the company you plan to establish must suit your state of health. The goal must be for the company or self-employment to provide you with an income.

We expect your company to have good business potential.
The requirements are that:

  • you have an entrepreneurial spirit
  • your business idea is well planned and viable
  • you have competence and expertise in the content of your business and in self-employment in general
  • you have already looked into different financing options for starting up your business.

What should I do if I want to establish a company as part of vocational rehabilitation?

Begin by describing your plan for establishing a company in your rehabilitation plan. Our career coach can help you decide on the details of your overall plan. Send, as an attachment to the rehabilitation plan, your company’s business plan and profitability and financing calculations. We also require official confirmation of the registration of your company.

A work trial can be used to determine whether your job description is suitable. We will pay you a rehabilitation benefit as your income for the duration of the work trial.
