We annually check the information of our pension recipients living abroad, such as their address, because the changed information may have an impact on the payment of the pension.
If you live abroad, you will receive an e-mail from us at the beginning of March each year. If we do not have your email address, you will receive it as a letter. The survey will not be sent to countries from which we receive information through authorities such as Sweden, Norway and Germany.
If you receive mail from us or a message regarding the confirmation of your information, we kindly ask you to respond to the country of residence inquiry by the deadline.
You do not need to log in to our online service to respond to a survey. You can find it on our website at ilmarinen.fi/residential survey.

Agreement reached on YEL reform – a proposed freedom of choice model for pension contributions
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has released a draft government proposal to reform the Self-Employed Persons’ Pensions Act (YEL). Under the proposed reform, your pension contributions and benefits would be based on either your taxable earned income from your most recent completed tax assessment, or a confirmed income (as today) based on an overall assessment of your work input.
