Ilmarinen’s Board of Directors has appointed Mikko Mursula, MA (Econ), as the company’s new Chief Investment Officer. He will begin in his new position by June 2015 at the latest. Mursula will report to Ilmarinen’s President and CEO and will be a member of the company’s Executive Group.

Mursula will take over the role of Chief Investment Officer from Timo Ritakallio, who has been appointed Ilmarinen’s President and CEO as of 1 February 2015.

 According to Ritakallio, Mursula’s diverse experience in managing investment operations and his strong track record in leading a successful expert organisation were the primary factors that led to his appointment.

− Mikko Mursula has extensive and diverse experience of the investment markets, the ability to lead a demanding expert organisation, and he is well networked in both the Finnish and international capital markets, Ritakallio says.

Mursula joins Ilmarinen from the investment service company FIM Corporation, where he is the CEO. Mursula has worked at FIM Group since 2010, initially as Managing Director of FIM Asset Management Ltd and later as CEO of the parent company, FIM Corporation. Prior to that, between 2000–2010, he worked at Ilmarinen as Head of Equities and after that as Head of Listed Securities. Mursula has a total of 20 years of experience in managerial tasks in the investment markets.
